Road conditions played a role in two deadly accidents in Waldo County Wednesday. Three people were killed. Just before 8 a.m., 48-year-old Laura Breault and her 15-year old daughter Jessica of Knox were travelling on the Bailey Road in Knox. They were on their way to Brooks Christian School where Jessica attended. Police say Laura Breault lost control of her subaru outback and collided head on into a tractor trailer driven by 44-year-old Daniel Crockett of Rome. Breault and her daughter died at the scene. Crockett was taken to the hospital, police say he was not seriously injured. Another accident in the town of Troy killed an 18-year old man. David Brown of Unity was driving a jeep cherokee on Route 9 toward Bangor around 11 o’clock. Authorities say he was heading to UMaine Orono to take a final. Police say Brown passed another vehicle and was getting back into the travel lane when he went into a skid, lost control and struck a telephone pole snapping it in half. Lietenant Jason Trundy with the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office says poor road conditions played a role in both accidents. Extra patrols in Waldo County were called in to handle the number of reported accidents Wednesday. There were 8 crashes, including the two fatal accidents in Knox and Troy.
