Committee Looks at Ways to Implement Federal Health Care Reform in Maine 

(AP) – A report facing public review says the leap to cover people under the federal health care reforms won’t be as great in Maine as it is in much of the nation. Panels that have been studying the impact of the new federal say that’s because Maine is already involved in innovative efforts to provide affordable health coverage for its citizens. The Maine Advisory Committee on Health Systems Development Steering Committee on Health Reform and will hold a public hearing Tuesday on the report. It contains recommendations to the governor and Legislature on how the state should implement the national health overhaul that was signed into law by President Barack Obama earlier this year.
