A hunter from Howland who was reported missing by his father Saturday night was located early Sunday morning.Twenty-three-year-old Josh Spaulding left his home Saturday to hunt for deer on the last day of muzzleloader season. When he didn’t return home, his father reported him missing.Wardens followed some tracks in the snow and were then able to make voice contact with him.Officials say Spaulding had crossed a stream that feeds into the now-flooded Penobscot River while chasing a deer.He became stranded but was able to make a fire to keep warm.Spaulding had to break the ice with his feet and hands and wade through waist-deep water to get to the hovercraft. He had no major injuries and no medical attention was needed.
