Tree Lighting 

Folks in Carmel turned out for the annual tree lighting at the Simpson Memorial Library Sunday evening.The tree is donated by Piper Mountain Christmas Tree Farm and was selected and cut by kindergarten students from Carmel Elementary School.Caroling followed the tree lighting, along with a lighted luminary walk to the historical society where refreshments were served.Organizers say it’s all a community effort.” It creates a sense of community. It’s a small town and community is very important.”” We want to celebrate around this time because it’s Christmas. Who wouldn’t celebrate?”Everyone attending enjoyed the tree lighting.
