Outraged Friends of Beaten Man Plan Protest

Friends of a Maine man who died from injuries outside a bar in Bangor say they’re outraged that nobody’s being charged in his death. Dale Lambert told says that she and others will meet outside the Penobscot Judicial Center on Sunday to protest the Penobscot County grand jury’s decision to not indict anybody in the death of 47-year-old Ralph Greenleaf. Lambert said she was Greenleaf’s fiancee. Police said Greenleaf was injured after being pushed to the pavement and hitting his head during a late-night altercation outside Carolina’s Bar in August. He died three days later. Police said 16 people testified before the grand jury, which decided the case did not rise to the level of bringing criminal charges. (AP)
