Bangor Area Homeless Shelter Receives Health Items As Part of United Way Project

The Bangor Area Homeless Shelter received more than two hundred health and hygene items from People’s United Bank Thursday.The bank presented the items to the shelter’s Executive Director, Dennis Marble, at a ceremony at the Healthcare Mall in bangor.The project is one of 19 projects involved in the United Way of Eastern Maine’s “Days of Caring” program.All of the Bangor area branches of People’s United Bank participated in the drive by hosting bins at their locations to collect the items.The items will be used for the shelter’s Visiting Nurse program.”This is a community that’s been generous as long as I know and every time any of us asks one way of another things happen, it’s one of the best things of having to work in this kind of field in a community like Bangor,” said Dennis Marble.United Way of Eastern Maine helps more than 50,000 people each year.
