Candle Light Vigil for Katrina Windred

Folks gathered in Rockland Friday evening for a candle light vigil for Katrina Windred.Windred’s body was found Tuesday along Thompson Meadow Road in Rockland.Authorities aren’t saying exactly how the 47-year-old woman died, but they continue to call her death suspicious. The vigil was held at the First Universalist Church. Windred had been a member there for three years.Mark Glovin is the minister at the church. He says Friday night, folks remembered the good times spent with Windred and shared story after story of her kindness.Glovin says she worked a lot with their religious education program. And loved animals and nature. He describes her as very inspirational and always willing to lend a hand.Glovin says when such a tragic event like this happens, it really makes you think.” It separates what’s really important from the deep, true stuff, It makes me want to make sure in all my interactions I’m as present to those things as possible.”A memorial service for Windred is being planned for mid December.
