Dog Involved in Attack is Euthanized 

A bulldog mix that mauled a 41-year-old woman while she out for a walk in a small Maine town has been euthanized. Animal control officer Bruce Hallett says that the dog was put to death Thursday. Its body will be tested for rabies. Karen Stewart of Prentiss Township was attacked last Friday while walking on a dirt roadway in LaGrange, north of Bangor. Adams, who was visiting a friend, was “ripped apart” with more than 20 dog bites and has been in critical condition since. Family members said Stewart was in surgery late Thursday and wasat risk of losing one or both of her arms. The dog’s owner, 28-year-old Adam Bemis, has been charged with keeping a dangerous dog. (AP)
