College Students Walk for Heat and Food 

Local college honor students are collecting money for Mainers who need help with food and heat.Phi Theta Kappa students at Eastern Maine Community College sponsored a 5k walk Friday afternoon.All money raised is going to local food cupboards.”Phi Theta Kappa is a big supporter of helping the community out so we thought this would be a very good cause,” said Darci Sutherland, secretary of Phi Theta Kappa. Students will also be collecting food to “Stuff the Bus”. On Monday, a school bus will be at Sam’s Club in Bangor from 7a.m. to 7 p.m., collecting food.On Tuesday from 7a.m. to noon the bus will be at the EMCC campus and from noon to 8p.m. you’ll find it back at Sam’s Club.
