State police say the body of a man found dead in the woods in Vassalboro is of a convicted child molester who never showed up at jail.On Monday, two deer hunters discovered the badly decomposed body of 60-year-old William Stein off Route 32.He was supposed to report to Kennebec County jail in mid-June to begin serving a 3-and-a-half year prison term. Stein pleaded guilty that month to gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact of a child. The medical examiner’s office identified his body this morning through DNA evidence.
