Biggest Mover: Week 4

For those of you who haven’t been following along, Meteorologists Chris Ewing and Todd Simcox are part of the Biggest Mover program at the Bangor Y.They’re at the one month mark. We went and checked on their progress this week.——————“We really take people in twelve weeks and show them that they can get stronger. They can lose weight and they can have fun doing it too.”With four weeks down, the Bangor Y’s Biggest Mover challenge is off to a great start. Everyone seems to be into their new workout routines and on their way toward a healthier lifestyle.”Oh its so much fun. This is why I do what I do, to see these kinds of changes you can help people make in their lives.”After the first training session, i wondered what we had gotten ourselves into.”Day one, I thought I was going to die. Now we’re doing harder exercises and it feels good.””The first day is a little bit of a shock. Its a good way to gauge what their fitness levels are and on the first day is to really challenge them but not completely over do it but right now we’re at day seven, so they’re really making gains and they’re all getting stronger.”The first month has been anything but easy, from becoming more active to making better decisions and keeping track of what we eat and drink each day.”My energy level hasn’t been this high in ages. I just have so much energy since we started doing this, its amazing.”We’re doing all of this with the help of some great trainers who all have the same mindset and want their individual teams to succeed. “We try to be very realistic. We’re not about over-exercising and starving yourself or anything like that. When they’re done this, they need to continue this in their everyday lives. Everyday.”Every week, every training session is different. The trainers switch things up and keep us on our toes by introducing us to exercises that a lot of us have never done before.”Everyday is different so we don’t do the same thing over and over. I mean, if we did that, everyone would get bored. Everything is different. You’re working different things, doing different exercises for different muscles, different cardio workouts, things like that.”Of course, seeing results at our weekly weigh-ins, clothes fitting better and energy levels much higher than they’ve been in recent times, really help keep us motivated and keep us on track.”I think he has a little lead on me right now but slow and steady winds the race. Hopefully. I’m just proud of both us for working hard at it.”For those of you who would like to lose a few pounds, exercise more and improve your overall health, a program like this is well worth the time and effort.”Everybody can gain a little bit from a program like this.””Its phenomenal. I can’t say enough about how good this has been.”—————-After three weeks Chris had lost a total of 8.8 pounds.
