Army Corporal Andrew Hutchins Laid to Rest 

Flags flew at half-staff Friday to honor Army Corporal Andrew Hutchins of New Portland.A funeral service was held at the Augusta Armory, where hundreds gathered to pay their respects to the fallen soldier and his family. Corporal Hutchins was killed on November 8th while serving in Afghanistan. The 20-year-old was a military policeman serving with the 101st Airborne division.Hutchins graduated from Carrabec High School in North Anson.Among his military medals are the purple heart and the bronze star.His fellow soldiers and family spoke about how his commitment to his country started at a young teen. They say he was truly doing a job he loved.Hutchins was laid to rest with full military honors at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.He’s survived by his wife and unborn baby, mother, father and two brothers.
