Pine Tree Chapter Recognizes Real Heroes 

Nine Mainers who stepped up in times of need and wound up saving lives were honored Thursday.The Pine Tree Chapter of the American Red Cross hosted its annual Real Heroes Breakfast in Bangor.It is the 14th year for the event.Among this year’s heroes is 5th grader Kameron Seger, who performed CPR on his mother and saved her life.Some of the heroes recognized pulled people from burning homes and vehicles, others saved someone from drowning.Each one of them will tell you they only did what they had to do.Penobscot County Commissioners received the “Extra Mile” hero award.They helped Pine Tree Chapter move into a new county-owned property on Hammond St.Viewers will get a chance to meet this year’s Red Cross Real Heroes starting next week.We will air their stories beginning Monday on the TV5 morning news and TV5 news at 5.
