Bridge in a Backpack Could Make It’s Way to Russia 

A Russian company that’s coordinating construction for the 2014 olympic games in Sochi wants to know more about UMaine’s bridge in a backpack.Six bridges in Maine are made from the inflatable composite arch bridge technology. More are planned across the U.S.UMaine’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center and the private company Advanced Infrastructure Technologies are talking with the Russian company coordinating the 1.5 billion dollar Olympic construction project.That company is also looking into the technology for use in railroad bridges and other public projects in Russia and neighboring nations.
