Local Tattoo Parlor Supporting Toys for Tots

Tattoos and tots — not two things you necessarily think of together, but one local tattoo shop is changing that, at least for Christmas.”Usually you don’t associate tattoos with Toys for Tots or stuff along those lines, but even still it’s just a great program. Anything that gets people involved and gets participation going, it’s worth it,” said Jacob Holmes. Holmes says he donates every year to “Toys for Tots”, a program collecting new and unused toys for needy children to have at Christmas. This year, Holmes happens to be making the donation through “Permanent Expressions Tattoo Parlor” in Belfast.”For every $20 toy, $20 and under, I’m doubling it. So $20 toy gets you a $40 gift certificate,” said Jacob Ard, owner of “Permanent Expressions Tattoo Parlor”. Ard says the “Toys for Tots” organization was thrilled to hear his business was helping out.”They were stoked on it. They thought it was a great idea. They dropped off flyers and magnets and stickers and stuff like that. Pens and pencils,” said Ard.Holmes donated a tool set and baby doll and says he’s glad to know he’ll be helping kids have a merry Christmas.” If they’re not that well off they need something. Everybody needs a smile.”The tattoo shop is located at 80A Main Street in Belfast. You can bring toy donations to the shop until Tuesday December 21st.
