Hermon Brothers Sentenced for Post Office Burglary

Two brothers from Hermon are going to prison for breaking into the Levant post office, twice. 23-year-old Todd Whitman was sentenced today to two years behind bars. 27-year-old Timothy Whitman is going to prison for 14 months. They pleaded guilty to post office burglary charges in June. A federal judge in Bangor also ordered the brothers to pay more than $1,000 in restitution. Court records say the Whitmans broke windows at the post office in November and December of last year. Between the two burglaries, they rifled through more than 50 parcels, stealing electronic equipment, jewelry and a $500 check.
