Maine’s chief executive voted for the last time as governor.Monday morning, Governor John Baldacci and the first lady went to the polls in Augusta to cast their ballots.Baldacci, a two term governor, stressed the importance of voting in his weekly radio address over the weekend.Baldacci says he supports Libby Mitchell, both bond questions and voted no on the casino proposal.When asked if he had any words of advice for the next governor had this to say: “Enjoy all the free time that you have now and be prepared for an adventure of a lifetime. As they say, it’s the front door to history. It’s a great opportunity. It’s an honor. Every single day Karen and I go at it in that way and try to give back to the state.”Governor baldacci says he and his wife will likely take a couple weeks vacation.
