Governor Urges Mainers to Vote Tuesday 

(AP) – Gov. John Baldacci says Mainers have someimportant decisions to make Tuesday and is urging people to get tothe polls. In his weekly radio address, the governor says the campaign’sbeen a tough one but the rough-and-tumble nature of the processtests the character of the candidates. The Democratic governor doesn’t mention candidates he favors,but says he supports the two bond issues on the ballot, $5 millionto expand access to dentists in rural areas and help create adental school, and nearly $10 million for working waterfronts,access to outdoor recreation and state parks. On the proposal to allow a casino in Oxford County, Baldaccisaid he opposes an expansion of gambling in Maine.
