Top-Seed Bangor Boys Soccer Grab Win Against Erskine 

Makeup day for quarterfinal games on the boys soccer side. In Class A, Morse beat Waterville 2-1. Messalonskee needed two overtimes but they beat Lewiston 1-0 and Brunswick blanked Mt. Blue 6-0.In Bangor tonight, the top-seeded Rams hosting Erskine Academy. Eagle golaie Zack Busmanis with a terrific night.Thirty minutes to go in the second half, off the short corner, Jack Stacey sends it in. Busmanis with a nice save. Bangor get the corner kick.But on that corner, Stacey sends it right down the goalline. Perfect placement, goes over the line. Stacey looking for a decision. It’s a goal. Bangor get on board. 1-0 in the second half.Three minutes later, Phil Frost gets a great feed from Seth Freudenberger and with one touch, Frost puts Bangor up two goals. The Rams looking good.Just about 20 minutes remaining in the game, Brian Potter puts one where only Ryan Pulver can get it. Splits the defense, Pulver gets taken down in the box. A penalty given.Brian Potter takes the penalty kick. Converts to the keepers right. Erskine cut the lead in half but that’s as close as they would get. Bangor on to the semi-finals. They win 2-1 over Erskine.
