Bake Sale Against Abuse 

Today, a local homeless shelter took a sweet approach to address a serious issue. The Bangor Area Homeless Shelter teamed up with domestic abuse center, Spruce Run, to host a bake sale in honor of domestic abuse awareness month.Both organizations are part of a nationwide effort to raise money and support for the cause.Amanda Cost, of Spruce Run, says the initiative is a step in the right direction.”All over the country people are really stepping up and doing activities and raising money, sharing information about services and supporting people who are affected domestic abuse and live with it everyday.”Volunteers baked about 200 cupcakes for the event.
