Milford Man Appears in Court After Stabbing Incident

A man from Milford accused of stabbing a student at Husson University in Bangor is out of jail, after making his first court appearance Wednesday afternoon.Police say 18-year-old Mickey Heath got into a scuffle involving a knife and brass knuckles with another 18-year-old.We’re told Heath is not a student at the school. At Wednesday’s hearing, a judge said the incident happened after Heath found out his girlfriend sent a cellphone picture of herself and the victim to the victim. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for a gash on his arm.Heath’s bail was set at three thousand dollars, which he posted.Despite the incident, Julie Green, Director of Public Affairs at the university maintains the campus is a safe environment.”We’re very proud of how our staff responded, we’re proud of how some of the students responded who were witness to it and called in right away and we were able to bring it to a reasonably safe conclusion,” she said.Heath is due back in court for a hearing in mid-December.
