Maine Maritime Football Coach Killed in Crash 

An assistant football coach at Maine Maritime Academy was killed in a car accident this weekend just hours after the Mariners had beaten their rival Massachusetts Maritime Academy.According the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department 24-year-old Richard Dykas the second was driving a pickup just after 12am Sunday morning on Route 166 when it went off the road and landed on its roof.Dykas was pronounced dead at the scene.Another member of the coaching staff 22-year-old Steven Nackley was also in the vehicle and he was treated at a the hospital for minor injuries.The accident is still under investigation.
