Early voting began at the Bangor Civic Center Monday. For one week, folks can cast their ballot by absentee. This is the fourth year that the city has offered early voting and it’s been gaining in popularity each year.City Clerk Patty Dubois says one half of all votes in Bangor are now cast before election day.The Bangor Civic Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. until Noon.”It’s been going well,” says Dubois. “It hasn’t been real, real busy, it’s been steady. People haven’t had to wait in line at all, so that’s great. And I’m not sure if the weather is keeping people out, but I’m hoping that it will pick up and it usually does as the week goes on.”Dubois says this year, there’s added incentive to get your votes in early. The band Styx is performing at the Bangor Auditorium on election night. Traffic is expected to be heavy between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
