Domestic Violence Awareness Vigil in Searsport

Catherine Pegram

Folks will be standing together in Searsport Tuesday night in support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The group “Keep Searsport Warm” is hosting a candle light vigil. It starts at 6 p.m. at Penobscot Marine Museum Park on East Main Street. Organizers will also be collecting old cell phones to be refurbished and given to victims of domestic violence. If you can’t make it to the vigil to drop off a phone, a collection site is also set up at Captain Shorty’s Restaurant, until the end of the month.
