City Leaders Ready to Move Forward with Waterfront Concert Series Contract

Bangor city leaders are ready to move forward and sign a contract with the Waterfront Concert Series for next year.At Monday’s city council meeting few councilors had concerns. One item that was discussed was the fencing that bordered the waterfront this Summer. They are looking to come up with a better arrangement so the view of the waterfront isn’t obstructed when there isn’t a concert taking place. There has also been discussion on putting $10,000 in an escrow account for safety measures and area maintenance.Councilor Richard Bronson said he felt this was a low amount and could be raised. But Council Chair, Richard Stone says they all have confidence in the city’s lawyer that he will put together a package that will best protect the city and let the promoter promote. There’s also been talk of creating a more permanent spot for the concert series and all councilors seem to think this is something that needs to be looked at.” I mean it’s great for the waterfront and it’s a great bridge to perhaps move some events to the new complex when we get that completed.”The final contract will be brought before councilors at their next meeting.
