Message to Help Environment

Reduce your use of lawn chemicals. That’s the message the Bangor Area Storm Water group was trying to get across Saturday.Students from Bangor High School stenciled the message on pavement near storm drains to remind residents that storm water flows unfiltered into streams. They also left door hangers at area houses to educate residents about the project and storm water pollution in general.” It’s really important that people understand that every little bit counts. Everything that goes on the roads and on the yards ends up in the streams, not just parking lots and not just industrial or commercial entities. But also in the residential areas. It all adds up and if we can get it out of the streams we’ll make a big improvement on improving water quality in Bangor.”For more stormwater friendly homeowner tips you can visit their website www.baswg.org.
