Halloween Party

Ghosts, leprechauns and princesses were out Saturday night. The Bangor Family Readiness Group hosted a Halloween party for kids whose parents belong to the 1136th Transportation Company. They have been deployed to Afghanistan since March. The kids enjoyed a showing of the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown Movie, played games and even decorated cupcakes.Organizers say it’s important for the kids to celebrate the holiday without focusing on their parent not being around.” Our belief is to keep things going and keep it at the norm because if the parents were here they’d be doing the same thing. Instead of deleting the holiday, not participating in the holiday we make sure we do something on the holiday. Then the parent knows that the kids are still participating with the holidays.”These kids sure look like they were enjoying themselves and left with a bundle of candy.
