Help for Homeless Veterans

Updated 3 years ago

Homeless veterans are being invited to a Maine veterans hospital to get help. The 13th annual Maine Homeless Veterans Stand-Down is set for Saturday at the Togus Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Organizers tells the Kennebec Journal that the goal of it is to provide the services that could help homeless veterans get off the streets for good. Veterans can get transportation to the center from nine spots around Maine, including Caribou and Augusta. Once there, they’ll get meals, haircuts, showers and duffel bags packed with new winter clothing and personal hygiene items. (AP)
