Maine Hockey Welcome North Dakota in for Two Game in Orono

The Maine hockey team is less than 24 hours away from its toughest challenge of the young season. The 11th ranked Black Bears welcome 2nd ranked North Dakota to the Alfond for a pair of games this weekend. The Black Bears and Fighting Sioux haven’t played each other since Maine swept a weekend series in North Dakota back in October 2006. Spencer Abbott currently leads Maine in points. Abbott and his teammates know that having a tough schedule is a good way to find out just how strong the Black Bears really are.Spencer Abbott – Maine Hockey”I think it’s really important to have a tough schedule like that. We just went out and played Michigan State and we didn’t really get the outcome we were expecting and for us to come back and be able to play a ranked two team is big for us to come and bounce back and hopefully we do.”Joey Diamond – Maine Hockey”Being able to play North Dakota and BC down the road this year, I think it’s great for our team to see where we’re at and we wouldn’t want to play anybody else.”
