Friday is the Celebrity Dessert and Auction. It benefits Hospice of Eastern Maine and Pathfinders.One dessert you’ll be sure to find at the auction is Sea Dog Restaurant’s Banana Fosters Cheesecake. Ian McCue is a chef at the Sea Dog. He joined Jim Morris on TV News at 5 Thursday for a preview of the dish.If you are interested in attending the dessert and auction it’s going to be held this year at Eastern Maine Community College, in Bangor, in Rangeley Hall. The silent auction starts at 5:45 and the live auction starts at 6:15. Tickets are $15 at the door.Graham Cracker Crust:18 gram crackers, crushed1/2 cup sugar1 tsp cinnamon1/2 cup melted butterCrush graham crackers until fine and mix with sugar cinnamon and melted butter. Press into the bottom of a 10 inch spring-form panFilling16 oz cream cheese16 oz cottage cheese1 1/2 cup sugarJuice and ride of 1/2 lemon2 tsp pure vanilla extract2 tbsp flour3 tbsp cornstarch16 oz sour cream4 eggs, beatenBeat cottage cheese and blend in softened cream cheese. Add sugar, lemon juice and vanilla. Stir in flour and corn starch. Add melted butter and blend in sour cream. Add beaten eggs. Pour mixture over Graham Cracker Crust. Bake in pre-heated 350 degree oven for one hour. Turn oven off, pull oven door partially open and leave in for 2 hours.Bananas Foster:1/2 stick of butter6 tbsp brown sugar4 bananas1 tbsp light rum1 tbsp Banana Liqueur1 sprinkle cinnamonMix butter and brown sugar in skillet. Cook over medium heat until sugar is melted. Slice bananas and add to the butter mixture, cook until tender. Add the banana liqueur and stir. Sprinkle run and ignite stir gently a few times, spoon over a standard cheesecake.
