Maine Bottom of the List for Business

One of the top business magazines says Maine hits the bottom of the list when it comes to best states for business. In its fifth annual survey, Forbes ranked Maine at number 50. Rhode Island came in at 49 – Mississippi at 48th.Topping the list – Utah, Virginia and North Carolina.Forbes says it based its rankings on business costs, labor supply, regulatory environment, economic climate, growth prospects and quality of life.The magazine says the outlook for jobs in Maine is one of the worst in the country.Job growth is expected to climb only 1.3 percent a year, over the next five years.
