Winterport Blueberry Fields Dedicated

The blueberry fields atop blueberry hill in Winterport were dedicated today to a man who spent many years of his life serving his town.Donald Weston was the chairman of the conservation committee until his death in July of last year.Today, a sign next to those fields was unveiled in his honor. The town wanted to recognize some of the community members who had given so much to the town to make it what it is today. This gives residents a chance to take advantage of what the area has to offer. As a surprise part of the ceremony, Don’s widow, Theodora “Teddy” Weston, was named the town’s historian. She called it a hobby, but says it’s important to record some of the great stories that are part of the town’s history.
