Church Celebrates 150th Anniversary 

Parishioners of a Dover-Foxcroft church are in a partying mood this weekend. The United Methodist Church on Main St. is celebrating 150 years. Reverend Dodie Sheffield says the congregation got its beginnings in the 1830’s with folks meeting in various local places.In 1860 the multi-locations distilled down to one when this church was dedicated.It’s now one of only four brick buildings left in town.This weekend’s celebration starts at 1:30 Saturday with a reception to honor former pastors and longtime members.There will be a banquet with choir performance at 6:30 Satruday night.On Sunday, a special service at 10:30 in the morning will be followed by a luncheon. Everyone’s invited.
