Nearly 30,000 Reports of Power Outages Across the State 

High winds and falling limbs are making for lots of power outages in the state, nearly 30,000 so far. Crews with Bangor Hydro are trying to restore electricity to nearly 8,000 customers, 3 quarters of them in Hancock County.Central Maine Hydro says as of 11:30 Friday morning, more than 20,000 of their customers were without power.Waldo, Cumberland, Knox and Lincoln counties are being hit the hardest.The town of Newport was almost completely out of power. It was restored around 9, Friday morning.Area businesses like Valero that still had power saw an increase in customers.”There was people coming in and out, grabbing coffee, grabbing sandwiches, pizza, we had to make more breakfast this morning, it was nice,” said cashier Tina Jones.Officials are reminding Mainers that anyone who comes across a downed power line or tree touching one should not touch the line themselves. Call your electric company instead.At last report, Bangor Hydro had three thousand customers without power.CMP is down to eight thousand.
