”Get Trevor to Denver” that’s the plea to the community from one local mom whose son is very sick.10-year-old Trevor Allen of Old Town and his twin brother Evan both have autism, but Trevor also suffers Chron’s disease, severe bronchitis, and brochiectasis which is like Cystic Fibrosis. This last year alone Trevor was hospitalized 11 times. His mom recently had to leave her job to care for him and he lost his private insurance. Trevor has been given the opportunity to go to National Jewish Health, the leading respiratory hospital in the country. The hospital is in Denver and Trevor will spend two weeks there. ” To see him get so sick so fast is very scary. I have have really high hopes. Being at his treatment facility right now is getting his brain the best it can be and going to Denver, I just know they’re going to be able to put together a good plan for him so that he can be healthier,” said Marcy Rideout Allen, Trevor’s mom. A Facebook page, “Get Trevor to Denver” has been set up where people can donate money to help with the expenses of the trip to Denver. There’s also a fund set up through Eastern Maine Medical Center’s Federal Credit Union. If you stop in and mention Trevor’s name you can make a donation. Saturday, a fundraiser is being held at Great Skates in Bangor from 5pm until 7pm. For $3 you can skate all you want and all the proceeds will benefit Trevor.
