Late Nite Gets Local

After an eight year hiatius, the wait is almost over for the return of a local, late night talk show, the Nite Show with Danny Cashman.You can catch the first episode Saturday night at 11:30 p.m. on TV5.The show is taped at the Next Generation Theatre at Between Friends on Center St. in Brewer.Cashman started the show in 1997, and aired 150 episodes before going off the air for good in 2002.The show will feature Cashman, along with sidekick and announcer Joe Kennedy. Each week there will be guests and musical or comedy acts.It’s all put together by students at the New England School of Communications.The first guest to appear on the Nite Show will be Governor John Baldacci.UMaine hockey coach Tim Whitehead is going to appear on an upcoming show, and local actor, educator and broadcaster Rich Kimball is also scheduled for a future broadcast.The show will air on TV5 Saturday night at 11:30 p.m. it will also be on in portland on WPME channel 35 at midnight.
