Anti Pingree Ad Pulled From Portland TV Station

A Portland television station has agreed to stop running a political ad attacking U.S. Representative Chellie Pingree in her re-election campaign. The ad was paid for by the Maine Republican Party. It takes Pingree to task for her travels on a private jet while stating that her fiance, hedge fund manager S. Donald Sussman, received $200,000,000 in federal Wall Street bailout money. The Pingree campaign asked that the ad be pulled because it was false and misleading. Campaign officials said the jet is not owned by Pingree and that Sussman never received any bailout money.
