Four of the five candidates for Maine governor tackled budget issues at the Maine Municipal Association’s annual convention last night.Candidates answered questions about state funding cuts that have affected town and city governments in areas such as revenue sharing and K-12 education.Democrat Libby Mitchell, and independents Eliot Cutler, Shawn Moody and Kevin Scott participated. Republican Paul LePage was not there, saying he had scheduling conflicts.The Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce has asked all five candidates for governor to meet under one roof.That debate will take place at Husson University’s Gracie Theater Thursday night from 6:30 to 8p.m.Candidates can make opening and closing statements.
