Two Polls in Race for Governor Show Different Results
Another poll on the race for governor shows a statistical toss up between the top two candidates. The latest Rasmussen Reports survey shows Republican Paul LePage losing ground to Democrat Libby Mitchell and Independent Eliot Cutler.In a telephone poll of 500 likely voters, LePage picked up 35% of the vote, down from 45% last month.Mitchell gained support – up 32% from 27%. Cutler also picked up voters – up 21% from 14%.6% of people polled prefer some other candidate and 6% are undecided.The survey has a margin of error of 4.5%.Another poll shows a leader in the race and a much bigger pool of undecided voters. In a survey conducted by Critical Insights for Maine Media Today, LePage received 32% of the vote. Mitchell garnered 26% and Cutler 11%.When it comes to those who haven’t made up their mind – 26% of those surveyed were still undecided. That poll has a margin of error of 4%.
