C.M.P. Rate Settlement

Some C.M.P. users may be getting a break on their rates.Central Maine Power has agreed to pay four million dollars in penalties after reaching a settlement with the maine public utilities commission. The penalty stems from a high number of service quality complaints last year.Under the rate plan, C.M.P. can have 1 complaint per one thousand customers, their average in 2009 was two and a half complaints per thousand. The P.U.C. says most of the penalty will pass on to Maine ratepayers.
