Educator Dies After Falling During Field Trip 

A Maine school official says an educational technician died of injuries suffered in a fall while chaperoning a sixth grade field trip on the Appalachian Trail.Sixty-six-year-old Jeanne Lynch of Fairfield died Friday while being flown by helicopter ambulance to the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.Superintendent Michael Gallagher says Lynch fell down an embankment while returning from Little Wilson Falls near the town of Monson.Lynch had worked for 11 years for the school district that includes the towns of Pittsfield, Burnham and Detroit.Gallagher says only a few of the 75 sixth graders on the trip saw the fall.Gallagher says the parents of all sixth graders are being notified and counselors will be available on Tuesday.
