Open House for Fire Prevention Week 

Hundreds of folks stopped by the Orono Fire Department on Saturday.Every year the department opens its doors for an open house during fire prevention week.There are lots of activities for kids to take part in, like a bounce house, fire extinguisher demonstration and even fire truck rides. ” We like to interact with the community so the kids know who the firefighters are, also it gets the message that we’re trying to get out to the children in the community about fire prevention week,” said Lt. Rob St. Louis with the Orono Fire Department.St. Louis says the firefighters enjoy the event as well.He says it’s nice to interact with the community and help educate the children.
