Maine College Democrats Presidents Criticizes Paul LePage

The President of Maine College Democrats is also calling out the GOP nominee.Today, at Democratic Headquarters in Waterville Ben Goodman criticized Paul LePage for his comments during a 2005 debate at Colby College. The college newspaper reports LePage said college students should have to become full members of the community before registering to vote. The article says LePage said that meant students should fulfill Maine’s residency requirements such as paying taxes and registering a vehicle before casting a local ballot. A spokesman from the LePage campaign says LePage does not think the ability to vote should be taken away from anyone. We’re told LePage thinks more could be done before handing over local ballots to people who are short term visitors in communities where decisions by a vote could have lasting effects on towns.
