Unity College Solar Panel At The White House

A retired solar panel from Unity College may be helping to bring solar power back to the White House.Students from the college, along with the country’s leading environmentalist Bill McKibben, took the panel to DC last month. The goal was to persuade world leaders to install solar power in their homes. The solar panel was originally on the white house roof in the 1970s, under President Carter. The group left Washington without a commitment but now the Obama Administration says the White House will be decked out in solar panels after all.The panels will go atop the White House’s living quarters by Spring 2011, and will heat water for the first family and supply some electricity.
