Marketing Professional Offers Pearls of Wisdom at Girl Scouts Event 

Girl Scouts of Maine held its inaugural “Pearls of Wisdom” event at the University of Maine Orono on Thursday.The luncheon featured, Brenda Garrand, the president of Garrand, a full service communications agency.She received Girl Scout of Maine’s 2009 Woman of Distinction Award, an honor that recognizes women who serve as role models.The Pearls of Wisdom luncheon represents the pearls Girl Scouts founder Juliette Low sold in order to form the organization back in 1912.”I think it’s important to get a lot of women who are like minded together and men who are here as well to really focus on making sure girls have good mentors and can really further the efforts of girl scouts in the state,” said Samantha Lott-Hale with the Girl Scouts of Maine.If you’d like more information about the Girl Scouts of Maine, you can visit their website at girlscoutsofmaine.org.
