Some local children enjoyed the start of fall this weekend – making miniature scarecrows. The kids all took part in a class today at the Maine Discovery Museum in Bangor. They pieced together scarecrow puppets, using corn stalks, fabric and leaves. Staff at the museum say it’s a nice way to get kids into the spirit of the season. Corey McClain says, “It’s just so much better to have them out doing something instead of sitting in front of a TV, just eating and not doing much. So give them something fun to do, have some fun.”Museum staff say they’ll have Halloween-related activities, starting next month.
