Volunteers Need for Landowner Clean-up Day Saturday

It may be fall, but some local landowners will be doing some spring cleaning this weekend, with the help of volunteers. They’ll be picking up trash that’s been dumped on the properties – everything from household garbage to furniture to even old cars.Saturday’s clean-up is put on by the state Landowner Relations Program. Organizers say it’s a way to show landowners the public appreciates access to their property for outdoor activities.23 sites have been targeted for cleanup in 14 communities, including Augusta, Hampden, Millinocket, Orono, Old Town, Presque Isle, Winslow and Veazie. For more information about the Landowner’s Appreciation Clean-up Day, contact Bob Duplessie, LOR director, at (207) 557-9924 or by emailing [email protected] more information about the Landowners Relations Program, go to
