Women Found Not Guilty By Reason of Insanity 

A woman who killed a man on Christmas Eve last year has been found not criminally responsible by reason of insanity.Today, 46-year old Karen McCaul, formerly of Skowhegan, was ordered to the custody of DHHS.The state and defense agreed to a plea deal that commits McCaul to Riverview Psychiatric Center in Augusta for an indefinite length of time.63-year old Richard Howe was stabbed to death in McCaul’s apartment.He was a volunteer driver for a local community action program where McCaul had been a client.
