Baldacci Gets Good Grades for Protecting Environment 

Governor Baldacci has received a good grade for his efforts to protect Maine’s environment. The League of Conservation Voters awarded the governor an overall grade of B plus.The score was based on a dozen categories including air and water quality, climate change, forestry and land conservation.Baldacci scored an A plus for his support for a law to remove toxins from products and an “A” in air quality and clean energy.The lowest mark was a “C” in transportation.The group’s director says the report card should set a standard for the next administration.The league’s director says they will endorse a candidate for governor in the upcoming weeks.
