Construction workers are busy repairing damage to the Lincoln District Court, caused by a broken toilet. Clerk of the Court Sharon Webster says overflowing water soaked 25 years worth of court records, along with the basement and first floor of the building. She says the toilet in the clerk’s office on the first floor apparently ran all weekend long, over the Labor Day holiday. Staff who discovered the damage quickly started laying waterlogged papers all over the building to dry them.Webster say they managed to save all of the files.Crews have already taken out some of the damaged walls and flooring. Webster says she’s not sure how long the repairs will take or how much they’ll cost.
